I wish you were right - but you couldn't be more wrong:

1. You forgot the best player the Knicks traded away - Danilo Gallinari. So yes, i want Felton, Chandler, Gallinari and Mozgov back for a player who's playing ineffective either in or out of position.

2. It is YOU who's looking backwards. Who cares how Melo WAS playing under a different coach, with a different PG and in a different system? And what has this got to do with what the Knicks are stuck with RIGHT NOW?

3. Nobody doubts Melo's ability to be a team's (as in ANY team's) leading scorer. But if you insist on looking back: This type of play almost guarantees NOT winning a championship - see Melo's career.

4. You totally ignore the effect that Melo's sheer presence has on Lin's play. If he wants it or not, Lin is restrained by having that type of player on the court next to him. Plus, Melo will not take up a subordinate role to Lin. And as a star player he shouldn't. At the same time this takes away everything Linning is about. Thus, those two players are NOT compatible!

Good to see you, Seymour.

You actually believe what an athlete or GM spouts out of his mouth? Rule of thumb is athletes, GMs or coaches never tell the truth. Don't be naive.

I feel D'Antoni's actions and behavior speak louder than words, which is why I wrote D'Antoni is not keen on Melo back. D'Antoni's offense features ball movement and precision, and Melo does not fit it. Melo relies on isolation offense, which demands him to have the ball and get out of the way.

Another total BS article. If you listening to francesa's interview with Melo...HE is wanting to play when he is 100%. It is not MDA "holding him out". The fact your writing about D'Antonio's feeling as a matter of fact is bush league. Its speculation on your part. He knows if he wants to win a championship he needs a player like carmelo. Are you telling me Bill Walker is better suited for MDA than Melo? Just because you hate carmelo, doesn't mean you can writ trash like this.

Thanks for reading, John.

Philadelphia is different. I went to the Phillies parade in 2008. Those fans were hardcore. They paid attention to every coach or players. They were prepared. Speaks of how great Philly is as a sports town. They are fanatic about sports. I don't get that sense here in NY/NJ. It's a causal sports town at best.

I always felt New York was an overrated sports town.
