Why Carmelo Anthony & Jeremy Lin WILL Work

February 17, 2012

Your New York Knicks are on a seven game “Linning” streak, and waddya know, people are trying their darndest to overreact. On one side you have the senile championship-starved die-hards, the Rex Ryan types who think that the Knicks are suddenly championship contenders, that the addition of an undrafted point guard suddenly trumps the Miami Heatles or the Chicago Bulls. And on the other, you have the panc-strikendoom-n-gloom pessimists who fear that the addition of one of the NBAs best pure scorers, if not the best, will somehow make the team worse.

Melodrama Is Just Around The Corner

February 17, 2012

Not only has Carmelo Anthony been an afterthought with the fans and the media, but he is an afterthought with his own team. No one knows when Anthony is playing. The fans are not thinking about him, thanks to Jeremy Lin and the New York Knicks seven game winning streak. The Knicks star wants to play. If he had his way, he would have played last week. Thanks to a lockout-shortened season and tight schedule, the organization wants to ensure their “superstar” us at 100 percent, which is probably tough for him to swallow. If he is standing and moving, he would be playing.

The Knicks Are Actually Enjoyable To Watch

People wonder how long Lin’s success last. The better question would be how long until this team’s success last. It’s easy to be cynical when one looks at the team’s track record. How To Improve The NBA Forever Commercial

This past Christmas Day, TNT showed a promo during the NBA's opening match-ups featuring a series of video clips edited to show current and former NBA stars playing together while "Live Forever" by Drew Holcomb plays in the background. The video itself is goosebump-inducing, even for those of us who feel that the NBA is on the same tier as the WWE. I mean, watching Michael Jordan fist-bump Derrick Rose, Patrick Ewing chest-bump Amar'e Stoudemire, and LeBron James dunk over Dr. J? In a game that has always been supremely star-driven, such a collection of stars is truly visually overwhelming. And after watching the commercial far too many times, we've compiled a list of suggestions we'd want the NBA to consider when creating their next fantasy television ad. Check em out, and let us know if we missed any.

Long Season(s) Ahead For Nets

What a depressing way to start the season for the New Jersey Nets. Brooks Lopez has been diagnosed with a stress fracture in his right foot and will undergo surgery today. Now he is out four-to-six weeks which means the Nets are in bind to win games, not to mention the shelf has become incredibly bare in regards to a potential trade for Dwight Howard. This is going to be a long season, even if Lopez was healthy. The Nets center was only useful as trade bait for Howard. So is the next step trading Deron Williams??
