New York Giants Are Thinking Dynasty

February 9, 2012

Already there is talk about repeats and dynasty for this New York Giants team. This comes in light of the team winning the Super Bowl, its second in four years. It’s fair to start the Dynasty talk for this team. This is a franchise that features good core players and an impressive coaching staff. Standards have been raised, and that’s a great thing. The Giants should not shy away from it. There’s no question this team can repeat.

Notes From The Giants Super Bowl Parade

February 8, 2012

The parade should be about the fans that lived and died with their Giants all season long. There are passionate Giants fans in the New York/New Jersey area. They are into it. That’s why I came to the parade to get a vibe from the fans and get some strong reflections. And sadly, the majority of people I ran into seemed less interested in the Giants and more interested in partying

While some of us have moved on to spring sports, many still want to bask in the confetti. For those looking to waft, check out these stats on Super Bowl Reporting and Media:

Your Football Team Is Officially Undefeated

It's becoming a bit of a tradition of mine, publishing this video the week after the Super Bowl. Though the Giants Super Bowl victory definitely limits its relevance to many NYSD readers, it's still comforting for fans of the other 31 teams who didn't get to ride Eli Manning into the sunset this season. Watch the greatest Super Bowl ad ever HERE

NOW Where Do You Rank Eli Manning?

NOW Where Do You Rank Eli Manning?

Following the New York Giants Super Bowl XLVI victory last night, running back Brandon Jacobs called Eli Manning “the best quarterback in the National Football League.” This time a year ago, that statement would have laughable. Manning attempted to cheer up Giants fans, and perhaps himself, when he said this summer he was in in Tom Brady’s class. After throwing 25 interceptions and not doing enough to take his team to the playoffs in 2010, the idea of Eli as one of the game’s premier passers seemed ridiculous. Making matters worse, Manning struggled in Week 1, overthrowing balls to his receivers in the Giants’ 28-14 loss to the Redskins.

Giants Win Super Bowl XLVI Over Patriots 21-17

If there were any more questions as to whether Eli Manning was an elite quarterback, he answered them last night. The now-two-time Super Bowl MVP led yet another 4th quarter comeback and Tom Brady's last second desperate heave fell incomplete as the New York Giants finished a remarkable run with a 21-17 win in Super Bowl XLVI. Manning finished 30 for 40 for 296 yards and a touchdown pass in winning the game's most valuable player award. He also led the Giants to their 8th game winning drive of the season.

2011 New York Giants – Super Bowl Champs

February 5, 2012

Just as we all predicted back in August... the New York Giants are your Super Bowl Champions of everything! What makes this Giants season remarkable... beyond them bringing home the most coveted of prizes... is the number of times, in the minds of fans, pundits, haters, etc., they hit the mat and weren't expected to get up... only to rise like Rocky Balboa and overcome. This team, truly, is at its best when their backs are against the wall. They're a team New York City citizens, whether they are supports of Big Blue or Gang Green, should be proud of. After all, they are the New York Giants. And their first name is "New York."

Let’s Stop This Myth About The Giants “Not Talking”

February 3, 2012

Rex Ryan and the Jets take a lot of crap because of how much they run their collective mouths. Well guess what; the Giants are just as guilty, if not more so, and Super Bowl week gave a plethora of examples.

Tis The Season… Hall of Fame Season

Tis The Season… Hall of Fame Season

Earlier this month, the 2012 National Baseball Hall of Fame class was announced, and on Saturday, we will learn the newest members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This time of year always draws a crowd of voices debating not only who belongs in the halls of fame and who does not, but also what the standards for induction should be—what it means (or should mean) for someone to be a hall of famer. Since the only opinions that end up counting are those of actual voters, what everyone else is really debating are the standards of their own personal halls of fame.
