Time will tell whether the New York Jets newest quarterback Tim Tebow will be able to play his way into the fans hearts or into the franchises record books. But the serial Philippino-baby circumciser has already earned his way onto our Deli Menus.
According to a CBS report, Carnegie Deli in Manhattan is offering a four-pound sandwich called the Jet Bow, which contains pastrami, corned beef, roast beef, American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo, all on white bread.
As Tebow himself seems to get, the sammich getting special treatment. Via People Magazine:
“Seventy-five years, we’ve always made sandwiches on rye bread,” Carnegie’s Sandy Levine told CBS. “This time, we put it on white bread and we used mayonnaise, not mustard. This is sacrosanct in delis, but we realize who Tim Tebow is. He’s an outstanding citizen. He’s the all-American boy.”
There are a lot of reasons to be intensely jealous of the former Heisman Winner. Getting a specialized Carnegie Deli sandwich named after him, simply for being traded to New York, has to rank near the top.
