It’s becoming a bit of a tradition of mine, publishing this video the week after the Super Bowl. Though the Giants Super Bowl victory definitely limits its relevance to many NYSD readers, it’s still comforting for fans of the other 31 teams who didn’t get to ride Eli Manning into the sunset this season.
With the New York Giants Super Bowl parade earlier today, the sports spring season has officially begun. The NBA and NHL are deep into their schedules, Selection Sunday is within reach, and pitchers ‘n catchers are already starting to pack up and head to Spring Training. Hope, indeed, always springs eternal.
And considering the atrocious crop of Super Bowl commercials presented this year (Seriously Budweiser, we expect better from you), a good old-fashioned throwback featuring Priest Holmes, Jerry Jones, Terrell Owens, and a slew of other losers is just what the depressed football fan ordered.
Sing it, Jet…
Hopping back on the awful-commercial theme, am I the only one who is now rooting for polar bears to go extinct? Seriously Coca-Cola, I don’t know what was worse, your arch of odd Polar Bear hang-out ads that would have made Lon Chaney cringe, or your decision to create a deceptive seasonal soda can.
So who’s going to the 2012 NFL Draft with me?
