February 12, 1975 – Birthday of Jets linebacker Matt Finkes.

February 12, 1981 – The Rangers put 55 shots on goal and defenseman Carol Vadnais got his 400th NHL career assist in a 8-6 win over Winnepeg at MSG.

February 12, 1994 – Ranger Mike Gartner becomes the 1st player in NHL history to score at least 25 goals in each of his 1st 15 seasons during a 4-3 OT win against Ottawa.
