The NBA Lockout Was Pointless

From a fan perspective, there was no point to having the NBA lockout in the first place. At the end, no one won from this deal. The small-market owners did not get what they want in a hard cap, and the players will still be able to leave small-market teams to a better situation. There was no point losing 16 games this season.

Which was more disgusting: Hearing Gruden talk on Monday Night Football or watching the New York Giants inept performance? If I have to choose, it would be the latter. There’s no question Gruden made it interesting, with his over-the-top praise of Saints head coach Sean Payton and quarterback Drew Brees, but no one can overlook the Giants. They didn’t just stink; they flat-out quit in a 49-24 loss to the Saints last night at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

A three game losing streak has fans and media saying “here we go again” as yet another second half collapse is ensuing. Making matter worst, the undefeated defending champion Green Bay Packers comes to the Meadowlands Sunday. It was just a short few weeks ago Tom Coughlin was lifted onto Brandon Jacobs shoulders after they beat the Patriots in Foxboro; now three losses later the joys of a promising season may be going to waste as New York seem to have no answers.
