Remember Him? – Stephon Marbury Gets Cut From China. What’s Next?

By Mark C. Rinaldi -- News out of China is saying that the Chinese team that signed Stephon Marbury has now cut the number one man on Brooklyn’s most loathed list. So even China is done with Marbury’s basketball talents. What’s next for the point guard? Here are just a few of the ideas.

Spectator Bridges Add New Perspective To Mediocrity

By Anthony Strait -- When the head honchos at Madison Square Garden announced plans for renovating the 42 year old building, I thought was about time. As historic as the Garden has been its apparent that it’s age is showing. No, I don’t mean the building is coming apart although there was that asbestos scare that cancelled a Knicks game last month. For all the newly build arenas in sports the Garden just seemed like it was fading away much like the championship memories that made it the historical icon it is. Crammed concourse areas, boxed in seating, and the hundreds of events have worn down the venue. The renovations plans are much welcome with all the new arenas being built from scratch. This week however, one innovation has this writer wondering what are they thinking?

NBA Power Rankings – November 30th, 2010

By Mark C. Rinaldi -- Tony Parker goes out and screws around on one of the best looking women on the face of the planet. Who knew that was all the Spurs needed to do to be restored to the NBA’s elite? Maybe if Lamar Odom did the same thing the Lakers would be up here instead of San Antonio. See where the other teams rank in this weeks NBA Power Rankings...

Giants Show Resolve in Big Blue’s Comeback Win

Giants Show Resolve in Big Blue’s Comeback Win

By Anthony Strait -- The scene was looking all too familiar for Tom Coughlin’s ball club. The New York Giants were flat, being out played and serenaded to boos throughout the first three quarters. The offense could not get it together and the defense could not get off the field. It’s been that way during the two game slide that has people questioning if another second half collapse is in the works. The Giants finally woke up thanks to two touchdown passes from Eli Manning and ended their losing streak with a 28-24 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The win was big both in the wide open NFC standings and for the Giants confidence as they begin their stretch run.

No Apologies Necessary For Jets Being 9-2

No Apologies Necessary For Jets Being 9-2

By Leslie Monteiro -- It’s hard to be 9-2 in the NFL these days. As the Jets can attest, every game is hard, yet the Jets find a way to win these games. That’s what matters at the end of the day. Last year, folks ripped the Jets for losing to teams they have no business losing to, so critics can’t have it both ways by saying they are beating only bad teams.

Mensch of the Week – Wilson Chandler

By Eric Marmon -- Read the following yesterday in AM-NY, of all things: An article "written" by New York Knicks Small Forward Wilson Chandler, entitled My Holiday Wish: Help Charity And Keep Winning. It begins... "One thing I like most about the holiday season is it allows me the chance to give back to this community and thank you for being so supportive of me as a player, as well as supporting my team..."

My Take on the Derek Jeter Contract Negotiation

By: Shani Muschel-- Can I just say something about the Derek Jeter contract situation? I was driving home from work last night in the 5 pm hour and listening to Mike'd Up on WFAN, a long-time favorite listen of mine. Francesa decided that he was going to open the floor to all of the Yankee fans who were incensed by the Yankee's decision not to offer salary arbitration to Jeter, and their affectively daring him to test the market and see if any other team would offer him more than the Yankees are willing to pay him.

Right Place And Right Time For New Mets Manager

Right Place And Right Time For New Mets Manager

By Leslie Monteiro -- It was interesting to see the photographers overwhelmed Collins yesterday. That can’t be a good sign. If he thinks that’s tough, wait until he deals with the writers during a losing streak. That will not be pretty. Considering he has a gung-ho personality, he could lose it easily. He needs to give them the right answers. When times are tough, he has to be strong. He can’t wilt like he did in Anaheim when the Angels quit in 1999. He can’t do what he did in Japan by quitting on the Orix Buffaloes when they were losing. As an emotional man, he could lose it altogether.
